What’s the project about ?
The ‘Ways into Self Employment’ project is based in four
areas in West Cumbria: In Maryport, Workington, Cleator Moor, and
Whitehaven. It aims to provide a friendly and positive service tailored
to your individual requirements, to help you on your way to self employment,
or explore other working options. Whatever your thoughts and ideas
might be we will listen and support you in achieving your aims.
Who will we support ?
- Anyone interested in becoming self-employed or looking for work
- Someone who may be in work already or on benefits
- A retired person looking to make some extra income
- A young person wanting to start a business
- Anyone who just wants to talk over some money making ideas
What can we offer you ?
Employing yourself may be the way to earn your income. If you have
always wanted to be your own boss, or just want to think through your
business ideas, but need to find out what help is available then we
are here to help with information, and the steps to training and business
skills you may need for success.
We offer individual ongoing support on a one to one basis, to
- Explore the steps to self employment
- Recognise your skills and qualities
- Consider training opportunities
- Look at other options such as paid employment
